  1. On page 86 of the book "Under the Bed of Heaven" which is part of Chapter 4 "New Visions For Sex in Heaven" on page 86 it says "Sex in Heaven: The Possibilities" and it mentions Protestant Theologian David Jensen, author of the book "God, Desire, and a Theology of Human Sexuality" It says on page 86 "Jensen does not preclude the possibility of sex, gender, and intimate relationships(or something like these) manifesting between heavenly resurrected bodies. His reasons for holding this position are many. First, and with respect to scripture, Jensen notes that while Christ makes the claim that marriage will not endure in heaven(at all, or as it has existed on earth), Jesus does not outright deny the possibility of sex in heaven. The assertion that the end of marriage entails the end of sex is an assumption of the interpreter. For many Christians that assertion might be made because they stand (knowingly or not) on the shoulders of Augustine and his views on sex, and not necessarily on the basis of what the biblical texts themselves suggest. Second, Jensen acknowledges that sexuality and eroticism have been drawn upon by Christians to describe eternal union with God- and thus eroticism in heaven is not wholly contrary to Christian faith. For example, the Book of Revelation describes the relationship of Christ and the redeemed as a marriage consummated in heaven. What is more, other theologians have interpreted the Sexual escapades in the Song of Solomon (from the Hebrew Bible) to be spiritual metaphors for union with God. Furthermore, Christian mystics have also drawn upon eroticism to describe the God-human relationship. Jensen quotes the medieval mystic Mechthild of Magdeburg, which bears repeating here: " and is given on page 87 Plus on page 105 of this same Chapter Patricia Beattie Jung is mentioned and it says "But if resurrected human beings are able to have sex, what kind will it be ? Jung says "Whether all this means people will engage in coitus, fellatio, cunnilingus, genital rubbing, or the like, I care not to speculate" What is more important to Jung is that any vision of eschatological sex should be about the quality and character of the intimacy we share with others. She writes "our experience of erotic desires- which might well include but not be exhausted by sexual desires - are and might well be even more transformed by God's grace. God desires that we be increasingly inclined toward intimacy and drawn into one another's arms in ways that are genuinely humanizing." Chapter 5 of this book is titled "Sexual Metaphors for the Eschatological Life" and on the bottom of page 117 it says "Sexual Metaphors For Heaven"

  3. Another book by
Tom Gruber published in 2016 is titled
"Christopian Sex: A Treatise on Reclaiming Paradise via Christian Sexual Ethics" 620 pages print , the amazon.com description for this book says
"This new ground-breaking book by Tom Gruber grapples with the really tough ethical questions regarding sex, such as: What’s right? What’s wrong? And why? Most importantly, what’s idyllic?
But isn’t this Sexual Ethics 101? Doesn’t everybody already know what the Bible teaches about sex? Doesn’t everybody already know that sex belongs exclusively within marriage between one husband and one wife? Doesn’t everybody already know that fornication is the Biblical equivalent of premarital sex? Doesn’t everybody already know that adultery is the Biblical equivalent of extramarital sex? Doesn’t everybody already know that lust is the Biblical equivalent of thinking about either adultery or fornication?
If you believe any of these things, though author Tom Gruber respectfully disagrees, he can relate. He used to feel the exact same way. But then, after a series of cataclysmic events, he was forced to question everything he believed about sex. After 25 long years of investigative research, he came to some radically different conclusions.
Oh, he still believes the Bible is the reliable Word of God. He still believes fornication is wrong, he still believes adultery is wrong, and he still believes lust is wrong. But he has also come to conclude that adultery is NOT synonymous with extramarital sex, fornication is NOT synonymous with premarital sex, and lust is NOT synonymous with thinking about adultery or fornication. Furthermore, he believes that many of the sexual restrictions God placed on mankind were as a result of The Fall. Here are a few key questions this book addresses:
•Since Jesus said love for God and love for neighbor are a summary of The Ten Commandments, if a sexual act is both loving and in the overall best interests of everyone concerned, how can it simultaneously be sinful?
•Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her in his heart has committed adultery with her already.” But what does that mean?"

  4. The amazon.com description of this
    Christopian Sex book continues:
"What did Jesus mean by, “In the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage”?
•If the Bible only approves of monogamy, why were so many godly men in the Bible polygamous without a peep of Divine disapproval?
    •Does the Bible condone homosexuality?
•What went wrong in the Garden of Eden?
•Did marriage come before or after The Fall?
•Is there sex in the afterlife?
Gruber grapples with these questions, and many more. He makes a compelling case for what he coins as “Christopian Sex,” a non-conventional lifestyle similar to polyamory. Polyamory means “many loves.” Of course, everyone agrees that Christians should have many loves. But to love more than one person romantically or sexually is somehow breaking all the rules.
Gruber defines Christopian Sex as “the practice, desire, or acceptance by Christian adults of simultaneously having more than one responsible intimate heterosexual relationship [usually including sexual intercourse, though not necessarily] with the knowledge and consent of every Christian adult involved.”
The key word here is “responsible.” Yes, Gruber believes there really is such a thing as “responsible non-monogamy.” He believes something cannot be responsible and sinful simultaneously. Put another way, he believes something cannot be irresponsible without being sinful. Bottom line, Gruber believes that God does not make up willy-nilly rules without having good reasons for those rules.
CHRISTOPIAN SEX: A Treatise on Reclaiming Paradise via Christian Sexual Ethics by Tom Gruber, though biblically sound, is very controversial. However, it is not controversial simply for the sake of being controversial. Gruber believes truth is important, controversial or not. He believes that marital monogamy and single celibacy are NOT all there is. In fact, he also believes neither are idyllic. Gruber calls believers everywhere to reclaim paradise via Christian Sexual Ethics and usher in CHRISTOPIA!" This book Christopian Sex also defends the belief of Sex & Lovemaking Existing in Heaven and the New Earth !!!

"Why I believe there'll be sex in Heaven" r/Christianity
    by
    octaviosiepi who says
"When God created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden there's no real indication that they were not created with their sexual organs or that they were added after the fall. More important God commands them to be fruitful and multiply BEFORE the fall, meaning that sex is part of human nature before we were sinful and it was planned by God that it should be so.

This means that after the resurrection in body and spirit when we will be free from sin and one with God there's no reason to think that sex and procreation shouldn't exist just like God intended it to happen before the fall.

Yes, I know that Jesus says that in Heaven there will be no marriage and we will be like the angels and this is interpreted by many as meaning there will be no sex since there's no mention of angels having sex and because sex is only allowed in marriage. But given what I explained before there's no reason to believe that sex existing in Heaven contradicts what Jesus said. First of all Jesus doesn't say we will be angels since clearly the resurrection will be in human form, he's just using an analogy meaning that we will be pure and free from sin just like the angels in Heaven. And also being no marriage in Heaven doesn't contradict the existance of sex in Heaven because marriage is only necessary because of our fallen nature. Once we are purified and free from sin our only marriage will be with God, meaning that whatever God intended us to do will not be sinful since we will be pure and only able to act in God's love. This means that humans having sex and multiplying just like God intended in the Garden of Eden will not be sinful and marriage will not be needed since our marriage will be with God and therefore not sinful anymore."

"Is There Sex in Heaven? And Other Hard Questions for the Man Upstairs" by
Lee Eric Smith with foreword by
Reverend Dr. Mary Tumpkin , the book is from a Christian Biblical Perspective and has 175 Questions people might ask , yet no answers, Just Questions
Some noteworthy Questions in the book are
#8 "Was anything important left out of the Bible? If so, would it matter?"
#16 "How do we know we're not a science project in God's backyard?"
#23 "Is tithing God's method of collecting income tax?"
#39 "Is there sex in Heaven?"
#43 "On Judgment Day, will sinners be allowed to have attorneys to speak on their behalf?"
#47 "Why would God make sex so much fun if he didn't mean for us to do it?"
#101 "Don't parts of the Bible seem a lot like soap operas?"
#117 "Why does living a perfect life (as Jesus did) have to exclude sex?"
#133 "Has God's stance on sex changed since condoms, spermicides and other safe-sex measures were invented"
#136 "Was Jesus sexually active in his 20s?"
#139 "What would media coverage of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ be like,?"
#149 "What will we do for fun when we get to Heaven?"
I know my belief about Christians enjoying Sex & Lovemaking in Heaven and the New Earth is controversial and is
    a tiny minority view among
Mainstream Christians, but as I stated on the Tom Gruber blog
istheresexinheaven.blogspot . The Biblical and other Arguments for Sex existing in Heaven and the New Earth are far superior to the weak false traditional view , the hideous lie of "No Sex in Heaven"
Like I stated before, I do Not
believe Heaven and the New Earth will be a giant orgy
    However, I do believe
Sex & Lovemaking will exist in Heaven and the New Earth, just like it does now.
Heaven and the New Earth will be about many things, just as this current Earthly Life is about Many Things, see my comments on the Tom Gruber blog

"Sex isn't inherently bad, so I don't see why there wouldn't/couldn't be sex in heaven.

We do have a few references in the Bible to our future bodies, most of which do still sound physical, although different. The one argument against the future existence of sex would be the verse that says there will be no male or female (and also no Jew/Greek), but I think it's a mistake to take that too literally. If you get rid of all such "divisions," you basically obliterate our individuality, and I don't think we're all just going to be heavenly clones with identical bodies and no personalities. I understand that verse to be saying that "divisions" like male/female or race will still exist but they won't cause the strife they do now."

"If you want it to be there, probably. We’re said to want for nothing and that there will be many mansions, so I’m assuming Heaven/New Earth is fairly custom to each person who arrives. Sex isn’t this huge immoral, evil thing that can only be possibly tolerated by God within the confines of marriage that more traditional people would have you believe. The Bible talks about it a lot less than you’d think. Now yeah, when you start stepping into lust territory, that’s when it becomes a problem. But like, excess of anything is bad. We’ll apparently feast in Heaven but it won’t be gluttony, probably since no one will be deprived. I imagine since everything will be perfected, we’ll have sex in Heaven too, but it’ll be fixed to where it won’t be used for malicious or extremely selfish reasons, spread any sort of disease, be forced upon someone, and you’ll not forget that any parties involved are unique people/not just for sex"

"I know this is way too big a can of worms for something that really doesn't matter, but yall know the Bible doesn't teach an afterlife in heaven, right? According to the Bible, creation will be renewed, people will live in new Jerusalem on the new Earth. Corruptible bodies traded for incorruptible bodies, not transparent spirits floating around. Heaven is the realm of God and angels, not the place of the afterlife. The whole idea is getting back to a perfect world before it was corrupted by sin and death."
Actually randompearljam is incorrect in stating
"Heaven is the realm of God and angels, not the place of the afterlife" The Bible speaks of the Current Intermediate Heaven that Christians go to Immediately when they pass away and then there is the New Heaven and New Earth

"Sex in the New Heavens & Earth or Just Romance?"
    thrillobyte posted
"Interesting topic going on in the Main Forum and I thought bringing it over here might elicit a few interesting replies: My take:

Billy Graham, when asked what heaven would be like, replied,

    Quote:
It's going to be like paradise. It'll be the -- everything that you ever wanted for happiness will be there. People say that the bible teaches there's no sex in Heaven. If sex is necessary for our happiness and fulfillment, it'll be there. And then, if certain other things that we think are pleasurable will -- it'll be there.
    Jonathan Edwards said (who-da-thunk):

    Quote:
"God will not begrudge anything as too good for them [Christians in Heaven]; there will be no restraint to his love, no restraint to their enjoyment of himself; nothing will be too full, too inward and intimate for them to be admitted to, but Christ will say to his saints, as in Canticles (a.k.a. Song of Songs or Song of Solomon) 5:1 ‘Eat, O friends, drink, yea, drink abundance, O beloved.’ If we desire to taste all the foods that God has made, will he deny this pleasure to us, who gave His Son to die for us? (Psalms 84:11) God will withhold no good. If we still desire a thing in our new bodies it will be good and it will be granted
So he and Billy Graham, two of our most prominent preachers and theologians were on the same page.

Marriage was instituted after the fall as a result of the fall. Before the fall Adam and Eve were not "married", they were "joined" because the institution of marriage was not around. Nor did God feel a need for marriage. God only felt the need to institute the law of marriage so that His people, the seed of Abraham would keep from committing adultery and fornication in their fallen state. That is the ONLY reason marriage is around---and why it won't be necessary in the new earth where we will reside. In our glorified bodies and in a sin-free condition there won't a need for marriage anymore. That's why Jesus said, "In the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage." People very incorrectly interpret Jesus'words to mean there will be no gender, no romance, no joining of two individuals and sadly, no sex in the afterlife. As one can see you can have all four without marriage."

"As a Christian, I have a possible theory about sex in Heaven. Jesus did tell the Sadducees there will be no marriage in Heaven, and I in no way intend to contradict that, but I can’t see why God would take sex and romance (two profoundly beautiful things that He himself created) and just throw them in the trash. I could be wrong, but I think it’s possible that Christians who were married in this life might still engage in romantic and sexual relations with whomever they were married to in this life (assuming that they are in Heaven with them). Even though they are no longer bound to each other, it might merely be an expression of the love and connection that they shared in this life. Heck, even some Christians who never married in this life might find someone (or plural) to have sexual relations with. I believe this will all be permissible since those of us who end up in Heaven are all one in Christ. This is just a theory that I have. Again, I could very well be wrong. Regardless, I do not know what awaits me in eternity, but whether or not there is sex, I know that whatever God has in store for us will be most fulfilling beyond anything we could ever dream of )

1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” "

"From a position of biblical inerrancy and natural theology, it would seem that there would be sex in heaven.

For the biblical part of my argument: Matt. 22:30 says there will be no marriage in heaven; people will be like the angels. And from Genesis 6:4, we know that angels have functioning genitals, sexual desire, and the ability to procreate.

For the natural theology part of my argument: Why would God create angels with working anatomy that they don't need, or sexual desires that they cannot fulfill without being sinful? I reject that God would torture his faithful servants like that. Either a) the Bible is wrong about angels being sexually functional creatures, or b) sex exists in heaven and sexual relations aren't limited to the marriage covenant, which no longer exists. Paul teaches that the Law essentially exists because of the human condition, so it's reasonable to assume that things that are sinful on earth will not be sinful in heaven."

"That verse Jesus said about people won't marry in heaven always troubled me a bit, because I can't help but think of all those people out there, young and old, whose heart's desire was to find that special someone, have their dream wedding and raise a loving family. If they died without fulfilling that goal, how devastated would they be to find that it couldn't happen to them in the afterlife? And I'm sorry, I don't think a loving god would simply brainwash them to remove that desire.

I'd like to think that maybe since there's no marriage (and I assume there would be no childbearing either), that the stigma of sin is removed from the sexual act and heaven would be a free-love paradise. Or that our souls would be able to express attraction to one another without shame or deceit, making it a thousand times easier to find your eternal soulmate. But that still doesn't resolve the sorrow of childless people who wanted a family of their own. Roleplaying angels, I guess?

At least I have the "eye has not seen, ear has not heard" and "every tear will be wiped away" verses to comfort me, that I pray God will find a way to heal those broken hearts out there."
